Occupational Therapy promotes health and well-being through occupation. The primary goal is to enable people to participate in the activities of their everyday life. A major focus of Occupational Therapy roles is assisting consumers to maximise their health status by provision of assessment, intervention, health education and support services.
Intervention can be across a broad range of specialities including (but not limited to) Orthopaedic, Surgical, Burns and Plastics, Emergency Geriatric Evaluation and Rapid Intervention (GERI), Lymphoedema/Venous conditions, Cancer Care, Cardiac, Geriatrics, Chronic Disease, Neurosciences and Neurology, Paediatrics, and Rehabilitation.
About the role: Deliver high quality Occupational Therapy services to patients with varied diagnoses within the Rockhampton Hospital and other settings within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).
Clinical practice will be related to the assigned caseload but will also remain flexible to ensure the focus of service delivery remains on delivering patient centred and time appropriate care. At this level, assigned caseloads include service provision to either acute, sub-acute, ambulatory, or out of hospital care services with six to twelve monthly rotations dependent upon the caseload.
Participate in quality improvement, research, and service development of clinical areas consistent with CQHHS and Queensland Health State-wide initiatives and strategic directions.
The opportunity for ongoing contribution to the development of the profession through provision of clinical education for undergraduates and less experienced occupational therapists.
About you: Tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution. Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA) and a current annual practicing certificate are mandatory for this position. Upcoming graduates awaiting conferral of qualifications and registration will be considered for this role. Demonstrated competent level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in contemporary and evidence-based Occupational Therapy clinical practice. Developing ability to establish routine caseload priorities and apply principles, procedures and methods for routine clinical services and decision making. Professional interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively within teams, with consumers and their families and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. What we offer: Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:
