We are seeking an experienced Town Planner to support the development of large-scale BESS projects.
About the Role As a Town Planner, you will play a pivotal role in navigating the planning and approval processes for major renewable energy developments.
You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to secure planning approvals, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and optimising project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Manage planning approval processes for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Prepare and coordinate planning applications, environmental impact assessments, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
Liaise with government authorities, consultants, landowners, and community groups to facilitate smooth project approvals.
Conduct site feasibility assessments, identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.
Provide strategic planning advice to project development teams to optimise project layouts and land use compatibility.
Monitor changes in planning legislation and policy to ensure projects remain compliant with evolving requirements.
Represent the organisation at public meetings, hearings, and stakeholder consultations.
Support due diligence and risk assessments for project acquisitions and partnerships.
About You We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented planning professional with a passion for renewable energy and sustainable development.Key Competencies and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in Urban & Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline.
2+ years of experience in town planning, ideally within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or property sectors.
Strong knowledge of Australian planning legislation, policies, and environmental assessment processes.
Experience in preparing and managing planning applications for large-scale developments.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to identify and mitigate project risks.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
