These pillars are infused with our values of bold, warm and honest Our Opportunity The Lead Data Modeler is accountable for the creation and maintenance of the data models (logical, conceptual and physical) that form the data layers for Australian Unity data platforms across the Group. Working with the Data Architect, the Lead Data Modeler will harness their experience in data modelling, data architecture, data engineering and data management to advance our data strategy, architecture, models and data ecosystem to support the Group Data team to design the target state data capabilities and implement the next level of maturity. What you will do Design, deliver and maintain the conceptual and logical data models and ensure the physical models align to our agreed structures and patterns.Ensuring adherence to regulatory and data governance requirements across our various business platforms and enabling functions within the Australian Unity Group and its partners. The Lead Data Modeler will provide direct support to the Data Domain Architect for the enterprise data model, enterprise data store/warehouse, information management, and advanced data analytics capabilities. The role will provide data modelling thought leadership to cross-functional teams in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data access, data integration, data visualization, data discovery, data layer design and implementation to enable optimal extraction of information to support business objectives. Through the implementation of a data modelling governance framework, the Data Modeler will work with a range of stakeholders across the business and technology to guide the organisation toward a defined future state with sustainable data driven outcomes. The role will also provide guidance and mentorship to the other team members within the wider Data Technology team to upskill themselves into Data Modelling domain to better manage the delivery timelines of the various projects and hence bring about awareness and collaboration on the Enterprise Data Modelling for consistent view. What we are looking for Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline coupled with significant experience in data modelling/architecture, with hands on experience of cloud service providers and/or data platforms AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks or Snowflake. Knowledge of ETL, reporting & analytics, data governance, security and AI/ML toolsets and how these interact with data modelling outcomes. Experience with Big Data, Data Warehousing, Data Architectures and Enterprise data services within complex environments. Experience delivering data models, specifically (logical, conceptual & physical). Demonstrated experience with one or more of Kimball, Inmon, Vault, Mesh modelling methodologies. Knowledge and experience with strategy, planning, and delivering in large programs of work in complex environments. Demonstrated experience understanding and supporting business strategies with an ability to translate business needs into solution requirements and use them to design data models for future state that deliver to Australian Unity strategic objectives. Ability to document assumptions and proceed with modelling work when requirements are unclear or unknown. Strong skills in the creation of well-structured, coherent artefacts for target audiences. Strong customer focus, decision making and situational awareness skills. Not essential, but would stand out Experience with change management and change initiatives.
