The Role
Here's your chance to work side-by-side with a Farm Manager who's as invested in your development as they are in the land. You'll contribute to the daily operations and strategic planning of two properties spanning over 7,000ha, with the main farm being located only 5km from Moree.
Key Responsibilities Help drive daily operations - playing a key role from planting through to harvest.Balance hands-on work with forward planning and proactive maintenance.Champion a strong safety-first culture across all activities.Take ownership of tasks, ensuring smooth operations without the need for constant direction.Mentor and upskill junior and casual staff, building a collaborative and capable team.Operate and help maintain a modern fleet, including John Deere tractors, spray rigs and headers.Embrace digital tools for safety reporting, grain outloading, and streamlining daily operations.This role is about more than just supporting the farm - it's an opportunity to grow your skills and make a meaningful impact, all whilst working alongside a Farm Manager who's approachable and eager to mentor.
What you bring A proactive, hands-on approach to farming, with proven experience in dryland cropping operations.Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to mentor others and handle challenges under pressure.Proficiency in operating and maintaining modern agricultural machinery.Digital fluency, including the use of spreadsheets, apps, and reporting systems.Effective communication skills, able to work independently while inspiring and leading teams.A strong work ethic and a results-driven mindset.An HC licence is beneficial but not essential.Note: Individuals ready to step into an Assistant Farm Manager / 2IC role are encouraged to apply.
What You'll Gain Salary: Base salary will range from $80k to $90k (negotiable based on experience), with all overtime hours over 40h paid at the equivalent salaried hourly rate. Based on an average 52 hour work week (as recorded by the team last year), total earnings are expected to be circa $105k to $120k + per year, plus super.Additional benefits: 3 bedroom house with utilities, internet, and a work ute.Work closely with an experienced Farm Manager while taking on leadership responsibilities.Career Progression: A clear path to Farm Management, with exposure to strategic decision-making and commercial operations.How to Step Forward
