Fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of significant capital infrastructure projects for local government Asset Planner | 6 Month Contract | Up to $69.58 p/h incl. super $62.40 p/h super 6 month contract (Start 6th January) Bankstown About the Role We are looking for an Asset Planner in the Open Spaces team, to support the Rolling Capital Works Program through the Project Management Office (PMO) and Framework (PMF). Key Responsibilities Program Support & Coordination: Assist the Team Leader in developing and delivering the Rolling Capital Works Program, ensuring coordination with other asset coordinators and team leaders for seamless whole-of-place project planning. Strategic Planning & Implementation: Contribute to the development and implementation of Council’s Delivery Program, Operational Plan, and Unit Plan as a valued team member. Procurement & Assessments: Support the procurement process for projects, including participation in assessment panels and providing subject matter expertise. Design Review & Compliance: Review and approve construction drawings to ensure that the scope, budgets, and compliance with relevant standards are met, including the requirements of utility service providers and government authorities. Policy Development & Expert Advice: Prepare and maintain policies, guidelines, and standard drawings for related asset categories. Provide expert advice to the community, staff, and Council. Grant Applications & Compliance: Prepare grant applications and manage compliance with reporting obligations to external authorities. Asset Management & Advice: Investigate and provide advice on the acquisition and disposal of Council assets, contributing to asset prioritisation modelling, updates to Asset Management Plans, and cyclic condition assessments. Customer Service & Project Recommendations: Respond to customer requests, making recommendations for inclusion in the Rolling Capital Works Programs or maintenance works as necessary. Community Consultation & Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in the community consultation process for projects on the Capital Works Program, collaborating with other departments as required. Project Documentation & Reporting: Prepare project briefs, programs, deliverables, and contract documentation. Write reports, presentation briefings, and correspondence as required. Development Application Advice: Provide infrastructure-related advice on development applications as needed. About You Essential Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture, Horticulture, Parks Management, or a similar field. Class C Driver’s Licence. WH&S Construction White Card. Essential Experience: Demonstrated experience in investigation, strategic planning, prioritisation, design, construction, and maintenance of related assets. Sound understanding of asset management principles. Proven experience in stakeholder engagement on projects and issues. Strong project management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS applications. Experience in preparing project briefs, budgets, construction plans, specifications, BoQs, and contracts. Knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations, Legislation, Guidelines, Codes, and Council Policies. Desirable Qualifications and/or Experience: Qualifications in Project Management. Experience using CAD applications for documenting concept/minor designs. Demonstrated delivery or trial of innovative projects. Knowledge of vegetation communities, threatened species, and biodiversity issues, particularly in the Western Sydney natural area environment.
