About The Role
This role will see you leading a team of civil, structural and transmission lines engineers providing project engineering and technical support in the delivery of transmission substations and lines projects.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing leadership to a team of project engineers with specialist civil, structural and transmission lines knowledge accountable for the management and delivery of detailed designs for Customer and Company initiated projects across AusNet's transmission network.
Ensuring the team develops scopes and specifications for designs and manages and reviews the production of all documentation/ project deliverables by Design Delivery Partners.
Reviewing and assessing brownfield and greenfield electricity substation designs, providing technical input into staging, constructability, operability, maintainability and safety in design.
Monitor and manage the timely delivery of high-quality designs and deliverables, ensuring appropriate processes are established to ensure high quality designs.
Supervise and lead team on projects and provide technical guidance and support in relation to complex problems by applying technical knowledge, skills and judgement to achieve outcomes.
Play an active role in managing resource allocation across Design Management to deliver civil, structural and transmission lines engineering accountabilities.
Management of budget and forecast within guidelines.
Lead, coach and mentor personnel within the team and share knowledge and develop the teams experience and expertise.
Proactively engage with Project Managers to report design progress and resolve civil, structural and transmission lines related design and engineering issues.
Support the design tender process including development of tender documentation, review of proposals and contract award decision recommendations.
About You
You don't need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
Tertiary qualification in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
Deep technical knowledge and experience in the fields of civil, structural and transmission lines engineering, particularly design of substations and transmission lines.
Extensive experience working in electricity substations and lines engineering, project delivery and/or design role.
Advanced commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement and understanding of network constraints to identify appropriate solutions to address the needs of the network and customers.
Ability to lead a successful engineering team and ability to develop, coach, mentor, empower and support colleagues and team members to achieve common goals.
Strong understanding of regulatory environment that AusNet operates within.
Proven ability to build and grow relationships and partnerships across divisions within AusNet as well as with external suppliers, customers and regulatory bodies.
