Our researchers are in a strong position, backed by the resources and expertise of our joint venture partner, the Cancer Council NSW. Our teams incorporate scientific breakthroughs into clinical practice, directly improving patient care and the health of our community. The Research Assistant (Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist) will work closely with Dr David Mizrahi to work across multiple research projects that investigate exercise and physical activity for children impacted by cancer. You will primarily assist in delivering an online exercise clinical trial, conducting remote physical assessments, and assist with study-related activities such as data management, managing activity trackers and assisting with ethics applications. You may also work across other studies such as a qualitative study of health professionals, parents and survivors to understand and design an exercise intervention for children undergoing treatment This role is targeted at a qualified Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist with an interest in paediatric oncology and research. You will play a vital role in the collection of data, delivery of online exercise programs and assessments (some face to face clinical opportunities where required), and support for clinical trial procedures such as managing study documentation and participant activity trackers, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and stakeholders. Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct and deliver research protocols, including remotely delivering online assessments and exercise programs, and managing the activity trackers and study packs for young participants and their families coordinate grant applications, ensuring all compliance requirements are met provide guidance on research regulations and ensure projects adhere to policies and standards assist in collecting and analysing data, maintaining accuracy and quality collaborate with stakeholders to share research findings and drive program progress manage documentation for research publications and maintain detailed records contribute to the production of reports and compliance initiatives undertake purchasing, payment processing, and general administrative tasks prioritise and promote health and safety in all research activities. About you hold a tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, or a related field are registered with AHPRA or ESSA have clinical skills delivering fitness assessments and exercise programs experience with telehealth is beneficial ability to work independently and meet deadlines knowledge of research software and methodologies commitment to maintaining compliance and integrity in all activities experience in mixed method research (quantitative and qualitative) experience working with children (healthy or clinical) or cancer patients will be highly advantageous Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
