Mincore is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Melbourne office. As an EPCM contractor specializing in the mining, mineral processing, material handling, and renewables industries, Mincore delivers complex, large-scale projects that shape the future of these sectors. This full-time position will see you undertaking complex Mechanical Engineering tasks on key projects, ensuring that all designs meet client specifications, industry standards, safety, and environmental regulations.ResponsibilitiesDesign and Engineering: Mechanical design for mining, mineral processing, and material handling systems. This includes conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, and other related equipment.Feasibility and Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies and engineering analysis, and system performance evaluations, to determine the optimal design solutions.Project Lifecycle Management: Undertake mechanical engineering tasks across the project lifecycle from initial concept through to commissioning, ensuring all stages are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.Procurement Support: Undertake procurement activities, including developing specifications, reviewing vendor proposals, and selecting equipment that meets project requirements and budget constraints.Site Support and Commissioning: Provide technical support during commissioning and startup phases, ensuring smooth handover of mechanical systems to operations.Technical Leadership and Supervision: Mentor junior engineers and support staff, reviewing their work to ensure quality and technical accuracy.Troubleshooting and Optimization: Perform root cause analysis and provide corrective actions for any mechanical failures or performance issues encountered during project execution.Compliance and Safety: Ensure all mechanical systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical documentation, and progress reports for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.Client Liaison: Communicate with clients and contractors to ensure designs meet project specifications and resolve any engineering-related issues that arise.QualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (Project Management qualifications are a plus).8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically within mining, mineral processing, and material handling sectors.Proven experience in EPCM projects, particularly in managing mechanical design and construction activities.Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.Strong technical knowledge of material handling equipment, crushers, conveyors, chutes, bins, hoppers, with a solid understanding of processing equipment requirements.Solid understanding of 3D Modelling principles, with the ability to review and interrogate data using software such as Navisworks, TruView, and Bentley View.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and teams effectively.Strong communication and leadership abilities.Strong understanding of safety in design principles.Ability to deliver the project in accordance with the requirements of the Quality Management System.Why Join Mincore?Work on challenging, high-profile projects in the mining and material handling industries.Competitive salary and benefits.Full-time, permanent position based in Melbourne with opportunities for growth.Join a dynamic and collaborative team of experts in the field.How to Apply:If you're ready to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you!
