We have an exciting and fast-paced opportunity to join the Infinite Aged Care team in the role of Cook at our EdgeHill facility. Reporting to the Head Chef and Facility Manager, the Cook is responsible for providing a quality catering service which meets our residents’ needs, including the supervision, preparation, and participation in cooking and baking.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain high standards of preparation in minimizing nutritional losses and avoiding bacterial hazards.
2. Ensure the day-to-day purchase, delivery, storage, preparation, cooking, service, and presentation of food and drink for residents is completed within prescribed standards and preferences.
3. Respond positively to special occasion requests e.g., birthdays and events.
4. Ensure all aspects of the kitchen are thoroughly cleaned before and after food preparation.
5. Always looking to improve services, to ensure our residents receive meals of the highest quality.
This role is a physical role whereby you will do a lot of bending, squatting, lifting, and pushing items to carry out your daily tasks safely. It is important you can perform these tasks without risk of injury to yourself, your colleagues, and our residents.
Who are you?
1. Have a Certificate II in food preparation OR demonstrated experience in a similar role.
2. Food Safety Supervisors certificate - desirable.
3. Commitment to attend safety-specific training and upskilling sessions paid by the company.
4. Willingness to come up with safety ideas that improve awareness, hazard reduction, and incident reporting.
5. Hold a resident-centric mindset which flows through to all aspects of your work.
6. Exceptional communication skills and ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders.
7. Ability to learn and desire to continuously develop as a result from feedback provided by residents and managers.
8. Previous experience in Aged Care or the Health sector will be an advantage.
