As Southern Waters Infrastructure Strategic Delivery Partner for Clean & Wastewater, we will be responsible for the Design & Build of major infrastructure projects. This extensive programme covers the entire Southern Water Services region including the Isle of Wight. The clean water infrastructure programme will require upgrading existing assets and installing new assets to reduce leakage and usage across the region. The wastewater programme will support Southern Water Services, in protecting & improving the environment for their communities and customers. Ensuring healthy rivers and seas, through growth, enhancement and sustainability, with a focus on carbon reduction and social value.

As Operational Delivery Manager, you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and will have P&L, HSEQ and customer responsibility for delivery of Infrastructure Clean & Waste water Projects. Reporting to the Contract Director, and working with a team of industry professionals, you will be responsible for managing resource levels, agreeing and assisting in the development of Target Cost setting, coordination of design and driving projects through the lifecycle process without compromising on health, safety, environment, wellbeing, quality and wellbeing. Supporting your team from a technical side you will need good knowledge of wastewater and complex water infrastructure projects with a civil engineering capability. Ensuring compliance with MUS procedures to deliver world-class health, safety, environment and well-being performance and providing leading customer service and satisfaction. You will also deliver operational objectives to support Southern Water in meeting their Performance Commitments achieving high levels of compliance. Assisting the maximisation of cash collection and margin whilst maintaining an excellent relationship with Thames Water through collaboration.
Your role will include management of the safe and quality assured delivery of both water and waste water projects for our client to high standards. This will include but not be limited to ensuring the correct processes and procedures are in place and followed ensuring right first time and defect free delivery. Responsible for setting ad delivering against financial budgets whilst delivering against the clients regulatory and measured targets. Managing, measuring and reporting financial, schedule and quality information centrally and working closely in collaboration with our Client. Ensuring we exceed our budget.
As the Operational Delivery Manager –your duties and responsibilities will be:
Leadership
1. Resource Management to ensure the safe, efficient and quality assured delivery of waste water and complex water infrastructure schemes
2. Able to manage build and manage a team of professionals to the highest level of performance
3. Ensuring compliance with MWS procedures to support the delivery of world class health, safety and quality performance
4. Ensuring compliance with MWS environmental processes and procedures
5. Delivery of excellent customer service and achieve above target customer satisfaction scores
6. Working closely with the Client to foster collaborative working and relationships
7. Support Southern Water in the delivery of their performance commitments
8. Assist in maximising cash collection and deliver targeted margin
9. Work with the Contract Director to Build, Lead, support and encourage the Delivery team with their duties (training, mentoring and appraisal);
10. Develop an environment where staff share ideas and best practice;
11. Monitor and support delivery staff through agreeing and regularly reviewing personal objectives;
12. Facilitate coaching/training to develop staff and ensure that Roles and Responsibilities for their delivery team members are understood and met;
13. Build and embed a controlled programme environment that enables us to manage and report performance;
14. Build a structure of regular reporting and performance appraisal;

Delivery;
Manage and lead the delivery team to ensure we exceed client expectations and deliver a safe and efficient programme of work, this will include but not limited to the following items;
23. Manage Project Delivery – Regular review of performance against cost and programme.
24. Manage data and information received by the client and third parties through our systems and resources in a controlled manner.
25. Oversee the management of Target Cost setting and governance.
26. Ensure client reports are completed in a timely manner, reviewed and submitted in line with agreed requirements.
27. Resource Management - Ensure the correct resources are competent and trained to carry out their roles.
28. Manage and maintain records in a controlled manner.
29. Build and maintain Risk, Opportunity and Change Management processes
30. Produce Monthly Programme performance reports.
31. Deliver Projects on time and within budget.
32. Ensuring quality is adhered to.
33. Managing cash flow against a WiP weeks target.
Quality;
34. Ensure design processes are followed and NCRs are closed out in a timely manner.
35. Follow and promote efficient delivery in accordance with client process and gateways.
36. Implementation of Governance through governance reviews, following BMS processes.
37. Promote and ensure compliance with the MWS BMS.
38. Ensure contract administration is maintained across the delivery programme.
39. Support the implementation of a positive quality culture
40. Manage and support the need and requirement for controlled and proportionate quality management to drive a right first time and zero defect culture.
Stakeholder & Customer;
41. Understand and manage key Stakeholders in the region through proactive engagement.
42. Proactively manage the client in meeting their expectations and customer promises.
43. Ensure regular briefings on current status, performance, social events, best practice, H&S through good communication.
Commercial;
44. Ownership ofcommercial performance including; Ensure strict cost management of all Projects is in place through measuring and monitoring on a regular basis.
45. Implement forecasting and reporting structures and regularly review performance to ensure forecasting accuracy.
46. Keeping on top of applications, cash collection and profitability.
Client Relations;
47. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with Thames Water and their customers ensuring MUS deliver customer satisfaction
48. Be aware of the need to satisfy customer requirements with the aim of enhancing the customers’ perception and satisfaction
49. Following leads and opportunities to increase workload
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams in a regulated water environment at a senior level managing teams against milestones and budgets in a safe and profitable way. Able to communicate at all levels and a drive and energy to build and develop a first class delivery team. Able to manage risk and business management with commercial and business acumen. Experience and knowledge of water and waste water infrastructure project delivery in a capital delivery environment.

63. Degree qualified in construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar.
