AHPRA Registered Psychologist - Aboriginal Health - Halls Creek AHPRA Registered Psychologist - RELOCATE TO HALLS CREEK Aboriginal Health Provider - clinical based position - 60 staff on-site Up to $135k + Super + $18k Salary Sacrifice + Free Housing Included + $4k Relocation Support Fixed term contract until June 2025 - with 99% probability of extension Our Client: Work for one of the Kimberley's leading Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Care Services located in the town of Halls Creek. They have been a prominent healthcare provider to local communities since 1987 and have a very well-established, large clinic along with a residential aged care facility where they provide primary health care services, along with holistic, culturally appropriate curative services with integrated programs. The Exciting Opportunity: An exciting newly created opportunity has become available for an AHPRA Registered Psychologist who has experience working with Aboriginal clients and understands the complexity involved. A brand-new pilot program has received funding till June 2025 to deliver mental health services for their clients, families, and the community affected by suicide and/or other mental health issues. As this is a newly created position, your client caseload will be staged and built gradually (no KPI's) allowing you to settle in and learn the lay of the land. The success of this program will ensure that it will be rolled out and delivered Australia-wide to aboriginal communities so it's a really exciting opportunity to provide your feedback and input to shape this program for years to come. On a day-to-day basis you will: Apply high level specialist knowledge and skills to oversee the delivery of evidence-based mental health assessment, diagnosis and management of clients, families and communities. Ensure service delivery and therapeutic interventions are aligned with the program and are culturally appropriate and evidence based. Embed trauma-informed approaches, acknowledging how trauma (including intergenerational trauma) affects people's lives and has ongoing impacts on mental health. Provide clinical advice on client's mental health behaviours, working closely with the Cultural Lead on issues. Work with relevant stakeholders including mental health, drug and alcohol, family domestic violence, employment, and housing services to understand the impacts other services can have on your client's wellbeing. Support staff to advocate for client's mental health and needs. Provide support, mentoring and coaching to 2 on-site counsellors with complex mental health client presentations. Creating a tailored mental health program for your individual client after having met with them (they will be referred through to you from the clinic's GPs).
