About this Program Doorway is a mental health, recovery and housing first program, focusing on accessing housing through the private rental market and is funded by Victorian State Government. Doorway supports people experiencing mental health challenges and homelessness to secure a home in their community and improve their wellbeing. The Housing and Recovery Worker role works in partnership with clinical and community services to support participants to maintain their tenancy, improve their health and quality of life. Connections with Real Estate Agents and partnerships with clinical mental health services are central to the Doorway Program. Utilising a Housing First approach, this is a unique opportunity to enmesh mental health, recovery led practice and housing to support the most vulnerable across Frankston and the Mornington Peninsular areas. Favorable applicants will have experience working in community based mental health roles with marginalised population groups. This role works in partnership with key area mental health hospital services in Melbourne. Some of the things your new role will include: Assisting participants to secure and sustain a home in private rental market. Working alongside participants, their families and friends to develop a self directed care plan based on the participants self identified housing and recovery goals Support operational relationships and partnerships with clinical mental health services and real estate agents Working with a fantastic broader sustainable tenancy team at Wellways You will also need: Tertiary qualifications in a social science or related discipline, or experience working in a recovery oriented mental health environment. Experience working in mental health or related services.
