In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of analysis, business performance reporting, providing technical advice, business partnering with both internal and external clients, ensuring the integrity of the finance system information and contributing to Council's compliance with legislation and accounting standards.Key Responsibilities: Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, or other areas relevant to the position.Hold or working towards obtaining a recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g., Chartered Accountants or CPA).Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a complex environment.Demonstrated experience in using an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as Technology One.Demonstrated analytical skills, with strong problem-solving and attention to detail.Self-motivated and well-developed planning and organisational skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, determine priorities and meet deadlines.Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills with well-developed written and verbal communication skills to enable successful business partnering.Demonstrated high level of computer literacy, with the ability to utilise financial, records management and Microsoft suite of programs to review and implement improvements to business and performance reporting processes.Thorough understanding of relevant finance standards, statutory accounting and budget development requirements in Local Government.Previous experience in a Local Government environment is highly regarded.High level of experience with Microsoft products including Power Query, Power BI and SharePoint.Knowledge of the Local Government Act 2009, Local Government Regulations 2012 and relevant AASB Accounting Standards.Apply Now To view the position description please click on the job attachments tab above.
