About the role
We are seeking a skilled CAD Electrical Designer to support Ampol's Energy Solutions projects. In this newly created role, you’ll be responsible for preparing electrical construction drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) that align with Ampol’s engineering standards, volumes, and project scopes.
You’ll also maintain up-to-date Asset Operations drawings and documents to ensure accurate information is readily available for maintenance and future projects by providing essential drafting support for asset reliability and project related designs, playing a crucial role in supporting the wider Energy Solutions team providing prompt drafting assistance.
Key responsibilities
* Facilitation of drafting office accountabilities
* Lead electrical designs through various AutoDesk CAD software and systems
* Maintain overall drafting office standards, systems, and tools
* Creation of Layout Drawings, Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Schematics, BoM’s, P&ID’s etc.
* Input to electrical cable & circuit protection calculations
* Assemble construction workpacks for consultants and deployment teams
* Support Asset Operations maintenance team on managing site specific documentation
* Support the Energy Solutions team with troubleshooting and maintenance activities
* Coordinate the lifecycle of drawings & documents through Document Management Systems
* Peer & detailed design reviews of electrical and mechanical drawing packs
About you

We are looking for candidates with the ability to multitask, being able to prioritise high volumes of requests in a fast-paced environment with a passion for electrical design and engineering standards.

Key skills and experience
* TAFE certificate in either Electrical or Instrument engineering, or appropriate trade certificate
* Electrical design experience setting up and working in an ISO Document Management environments
* Working knowledge of electrical wiring installations to AS/NZS 3000
* Experience with cable calculations and installations complying with AS/NZS 3008
* Proficient in AutoDesk products such as AutoCAD, Vault, Revit (3D)
* Microsoft suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, & SharePoint.
* Specific knowledge of creating SLD’s, drawing standards, cabling practices, and control systems
* Ability to conduct Loss Prevention Observations
* Focus on Process Safety Information
