Produce Manager
Pay Rate: $37 per hour
Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (with the possibility of overtime on weekends and holidays)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Produce Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the produce department, ensuring high-quality products, excellent customer service, and a vibrant shopping experience. You will manage a team, maintain inventory, and work closely with suppliers to provide fresh, seasonal produce.
Key Responsibilities:
· Department Management: Oversee all aspects of the produce department, including merchandising, inventory control, and staff management.
· Product Quality: Ensure all produce is fresh, well-presented, and meets the quality standards of the supermarket.
· Inventory Control: Manage stock levels, conduct regular inventory counts, and coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.
· Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and assisting customers in selecting products.
· Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and motivate produce department staff to achieve departmental goals and maintain high service standards.
· Sales Performance: Monitor sales trends and develop strategies to maximize sales and profitability in the produce department.
· Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies regarding food handling and cleanliness.
· Seasonal Promotions: Plan and implement seasonal promotions and displays to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in produce management or a related role in a retail environment.
· Strong knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including seasonal availability and handling requirements.
· Excellent leadership and communication skills.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficiency in inventory management systems and point-of-sale (POS) technology.
