About the role
The APS6 Procurement Officer is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support, and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the objectives of the agency.
Duties
4. As a procurement business partner, you will establish appropriate procurement methodologies, preparing a range of procurement documentation, evaluating tenders, and negotiating contracts.
5. Managing and undertaking procurement reporting and verification activities, and processing procurements through the financial management system.
6. Maintaining and implementing procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
7. The Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the Procurement Policy to deliver value for money outcomes that contribute to better social and economic outcomes for people.
8. Providing quality and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders, including guidance and reporting to the Branch Providing specialist procurement advice and ensuring procurement activities are conducted in line with legislative requirements Leadership, and the Executive Leadership Team.
9. Collaborate with stakeholders to provide advice and resolve any procurement related compliance issues.
10. Work collaboratively with the Procurement Framework team to develop appropriate compliance checking process, and relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
11. Provide input to the development of procurement training materials.

13. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
14. Ability to interpret policy and legislation.
15. Demonstrated experience developing procurement documentation, evaluating tenders, and negotiating contracts.
16. Managing related procurement reporting and ensuring appropriate records management
17. Ability to contribute to team professional development.
18. Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills
19. Demonstrated government procurement experience.
20. Leadership skills at APS6 work level standard
