EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Fixed term LOCATION: Warrnambool College PRIMARY PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION The House Assistant will perform a number of duties in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice and school policy. The assistant will be based in one of the College’s six Houses and will be linked to a Leading Teacher who will supervise and monitor their work. This role is one of public relations and a customer service function and combines the duties of House assistant and coordinating Alumni and Industry Links program. The assistant is required to: provide friendly and helpful assistance to students, parents and staff. prioritise and manage work demand. communicate effectively with a range of people. work as part of the house team to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner. provide specialized knowledge that is relied upon to deliver services to the work area. ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS AND IMPACT The House Assistant will act as a first point of contact for students, families and staff for their House. The position is required to work cooperatively with both internal and external clients and involves close interaction with a range of students, families and staff, as well as community organisations. Consistency is vital in all aspects of this role as the dissemination of consistent, accurate information is essential.
