The State Logistics Manager ensures the smooth operation of the Distribution Centre, maintains strong stakeholder relationships, and promotes collaboration across the business. Additionally, the role contributes to shaping national supply chain strategy and capability development.In this RoleLead by example to embed workplace health and safety into daily operations.Foster a positive safety culture and enforce safe working practices.Drive proactive safety behaviors and track leading safety indicators.Make hazard identification and resolution a standard part of operations.Lead injury prevention and early intervention efforts for a safer work environment.Support and implement new Safety, Health, and Environment initiatives.Ensure full compliance with WHS, COR, and HACCP regulations.Develop annual business plans and operational budgets with DC and State teams.Align logistics resources across recruitment, training, and warehouse operations.Drive high-impact continuous improvement projects and share industry best practices.You’re Likely a Match IfOver 10 years of experience in high-volume logistics operations.Proven ability to uphold and manage high health and safety standards.Track record of leading large teams (300+), fostering a high-performance culture.Expertise in automated systems and WMS, with TMS experience preferred.Strong strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to execution.Advanced planning, organization, negotiation, and influencing skills.Demonstrated leadership in driving cultural transformation and team engagement.Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L.Experience in Enterprise Agreement (EA) negotiations is an advantage.Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.Life at MetcashExperience a supportive and flexible work environment.
