Operating in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, this ultra-modern contract-testing laboratory is seeking a casual Micro Laboratory Technician or Microbiologist with sound analytical skills for an immediate start.
Accredited with the TGA and APVMA, the high-tech facilities encompass a broad range of analytical equipment primarily used in the Pharmaceutical, Veterinary and Bioanalytical sectors.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and capable of hitting the ground running in a fast-paced, friendly environment, ready to provide sound theoretical and practical knowledge to a dedicated team of like-minded professionals.
Candidates must possess the ability to follow standard operation procedures to prepare and QC test various media. Additional experience in the maintenance and calibration of analytical equipment will also be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will be trained in routine microbiological pharmacopeial testing (USP, BP), on raw material and finished products. Such as performing fully aseptic routine microbiological testing (water, bioburden, specific microorganisms, preservative efficacy, environmental monitoring and media preparation). The successful candidate will also be trained in confirmation of presumptive results, finalizing results and entering results in eLIMS.
For the right candidate there would also be training in visiting client sites to perform environmental monitoring. A current Victorian drivers license will be essential for this part of the role
Qualifications
3. Tertiary qualification in Science/Laboratory Techniques with an interest in Microbiology or Biochemistry or a related discipline is essential
4. Prior laboratory experience in a TGA, NATA or ISO accredited Laboratory will be an advantage
5. A strict understanding and adherence to the cGMP quality system, consideration of time-sensitive workloads and the accurate and thorough recording of all results, activities and deviations encountered during the varying stages of analysis

8. Ability to quickly learn new processes.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to work with minimal supervision to tight timelines.
11. Current Victorian Drivers License required.
12. Sound Report writing skills will round out the desired qualities sought for this position.
