The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.
About the role:
The Director, Reform Design and Delivery, leads the identification, development and implementation of planned care system reform and priority hospital and health service operational policies and initiatives that enable access to equitable and timely planned care for all Victorians.
A key deliverable for this role will be the continued implementation of the ten reforms outlined in the Planned Surgery Reform Blueprint, as well as other system enabling projects that support the reforms such as the Customer Relationship Management platform. Additionally, the role will lead the reform of Victoria's specialist care system through reform in action, as well as undertaking extensive sector and government consultation to co-design and develop a state-wide strategy to improve consumer access to specialist care.
A major component of this role will be the ability to build, maintain and influence strong working relationships with senior health service and departmental stakeholders, including Ministerial Offices and Central Agencies, to provide strategic advice and implementable solutions, as well as maintain strong health sector engagement through regular communications and forums.
