About The Role
As the Group Ethical Sourcing Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to lead a dedicated team of ethical sourcing SME’s in evolving and delivering Coles’ ethical sourcing aspirations for the Group. You’ll lead the program of work, including the design, documentation, and publishing of Coles’ annual Modern Slavery Statement, as well as the execution of audit assurance of program content through leading the development of system and data management skills.
You will also be sought after to provide expert oversight for the governance activities relating to the group (including benchmarking, internal and external education and policy).
You’ll also:
• Contribute and implement both the Coles Group Ethical Sourcing and Coles Group Human Rights strategies.
• Be responsible for ensuring the build and maintenance of robust governance and reporting processes.
• Be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the preparation, analysis and reporting of accurate, timely and professionally presented ethical sourcing data – including for senior executives (eg Coles Board) and external audiences or publications (eg Coles’ Sustainability Report, Investor Relations, NGO’s, Auditors).
• Be responsible for overseeing the investigation and resolution of whistle-blower complaints and other allegations relating to ethical sourcing matters.
• Be responsible for overseeing the benchmarking of Coles’ program against international standards and industry best practice, as well as contributing to the development of strategies to improve Coles’ performance.
• Manage key stakeholder engagements (including internal, NGO’s, Regulators, Unions, workers in the supply chain).
• Input into the delivery of a training and education plan for both team members and suppliers.
About You And Your Skills
• Experience in an ethical sourcing, risk, compliance, legal, quality, or equivalent role.
• Strong leadership as well as a strategic mindset to be able to foresee market trends
• Skilled at preparing program policy, documentation
• Background in ethical sourcing including understanding of international standards
• Excellent data and system management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent stakeholder management negotiation and influencing skills
