We're seeking a skilled professional to join our Risk & Control team as a trusted risk advisor. You will play a key role in ensuring that strong risk management practices and behaviours are embedded across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Adhere to and reinforce our Code of Conduct, which sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people.
* Provide pragmatic risk advice to various stakeholders, ensuring a safe, sound and efficient operational environment.
* Support and influence stakeholders to review, develop, and implement controls and uplift initiatives that enable continuous improvement in risk and compliance outcomes.
* Regularly review and develop operational risks and relevant controls, including support to common Business Bank risks.
* Regularly review and support regulatory obligations, relevant controls, and other compliance arrangements.
* Advise and support business stakeholders with root cause analysis of risk incidents and issues.
* Maintain quality risk data in various databases and complete monthly management reporting.
* Evaluate risk and associated procedural changes to ensure they are delivered effectively, minimizing disruption for employees and customers.
* Ensure the risk culture and capability is continually improved across our stakeholders.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* A risk mindset – proactively identify risks, seek to understand risks, desire to discuss and resolve risks.
* Ability to problem solve – think critically about a given problem, using data and other relevant information, in order to propose a solution that reduces risk and enables Business Banking outcomes.
* Autonomous operators – ability and willingness to operate with initiative, running with an assigned portfolio of work.
* Presenting and influencing skills – ability to present to senior stakeholders and influence all stakeholders to achieve a desired outcome.
* Relationship skills – ability to build rapport with business stakeholders in order to act as a trusted risk advisor.
* Organisation, prioritisation and planning skills – ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
* Knowledge of Operational Risk and Compliance frameworks.
* A minimum of 2-5 years' experience in banking/financial services or other relevant sectors, ideally with an Operational Risk background. Business banking experience highly regarded.
