About your new role:
As a Clinical Educator, you will provide best practice training and education to residential employees, ensuring compliance with BaptistCare policies. Your role will involve assessing and addressing the development needs of staff in line with mandatory training requirements and continuous improvement plans. You will coordinate all training within the residential care facility and will play a vital role in enhancing care quality and supporting staff growth.
Margaret River: 3 days per fortnight
Brookton: 2 days per fortnight
In the role you will:
Report directly to the Lead Education lead.
Be part of the residential Clinical Governance Team and the leadership teams in the homes you are working in.
Collaborate with the Manager of Residential Care (MRC) and the leadership team at the homes you are working in (including the Care Manager, Clinical Nurse and Allied Health team), to coordinate education and training programs for employees at the home/s.
Deliver and evaluate training and education programs in line with the BaptistCare Training Matrix, mandatory competency assessments, yearly residential training plan and any other requirements as directed by the Clinical Educator Lead (your manager).
Respond to requests for education and training from the leadership team in the home/s as part of continuous improvement activities and plans.
Participate in quality activities at the homes, including auditing, as required.
Monitor and update the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accurate training records are uploaded and maintained.
Provide reporting to the Clinical Education Lead and MRC's on compliance with mandatory training and other reporting as requested.
Facilitate training sessions and/or programs at the homes you are working in.
Participate in, and contribute to, the development of training resources in collaboration with your manager, the Clinical Governance Team, other Clinical Educators and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with external training providers to plan training/education programs/sessions as required.
Ensure external training providers are supported to deliver training/education programs/sessions, including any equipment and assistance requirements.
Coordinate and deliver orientation and induction programs, including mandatory requirements and competency assessments.
Supervise and participate in the delivery of manual handling training in collaboration with home-based manual handling coaches.
Work in accordance with BaptistCare and the Aged Care Codes of Conduct.
Ensure safe and sound work practices that comply with Work, Health and Safety policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
Skills and Experience:
Essential Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in residential aged care and/or acute care environments.
Experience working in a training and/or learning and development setting.
Experience with delivering training and education sessions/programs.
Ability to manage time, set priorities and plan workload to meet objectives.
Ability to manage small projects and activities simultaneously, allocating time and resources appropriately to meet the overall organisational objectives.
Well-developed communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve agreed results and outcomes.
Commitment to providing a customer-centric approach and delivery of key performance indicators as identified for role.
Desirable Qualifications:
Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
Experience in developing training programs.
High level understanding of Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards.
Conditions of Employment:
National Police Clearance
Willingness to obtain a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Clearance
Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical examination
Valid Driver’s License (Car)
Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout the state to homes in the BaptistCare portfolio.
