Ignite are looking to hear from experienced Linux/Unix Cyber Security Specialist for one of our government clients.
Location: ACT, QLD, VIC, or WA
Duration: 12 months with 2x 12 months extension options
Citizenship Requirements: Must be an Australian Citizen with NV1 clearance (mandatory)
Responsibilities:
1. Analyse and report on secure Linux/Unix configurations
2. Conduct security assessments and audits of Linux/Unix systems
3. Collaborate with other cyber security specialists to recommend improvements to client’s overall cyber security resilience
4. Plan and recommend modifications to improve Linux/Unix security policies and procedures
5. Assess adequacy of Linux/Unix patching and update regimes
Required Skills/Experience
6. Demonstrated experience in Linux/Unix system administration and hardening.
7. Proficiency in Linux/Unix scripting languages and automation tools.
8. Strong understanding of Linux/Unix security best practices and standards.
9. Experience in recognising vulnerabilities in Linux/Unix systems (e.g., vulnerability and compliance scanning).
10. Experience in conducting security assessments and audits of Linux/Unix systems.
11. Proven ability to develop and enforce security policies within a Linux/Unix environment.
Desirable:
12. Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities in OT/ICS environments.
13. Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) in Linux/Unix environments.
14. Excellent communication skills, ability to interface with customers and various stakeholders and ability to manage concurrent tasks and adapt to changes at both project and solution levels.
15. Certifications in Linux/Unix administration (e.g., RHCE).
