We are all mobile and like to get out and about. Some of us may require different levels of support in our home or in the community. We have different challenges in our lives which include learning difficulties, communication, and autism. We have a large staff team at Ridgewood who are all trained to support us and our needs.What Is Important To UsOur homes - we are very proud of our own bungalows and have decorated them the way we like them with our own favourite thingsBeing busy - we all like different things these can include shopping, music, gaming, eating out, cinema, theatre, the park, going for walks, going on public transport, bowling, days in the country and many, many more.Having Fun - we like to have fun at Ridgewood and have a laugh with our staff team. We love going out and having fun but we also love being as independent as possible in our bungalows. We also sometimes have parties and crafts in bungalow 1 (the office) and in the garden - this is where we can all get together and have parties and barbequesOur Staff - we like warm, friendly, and kind staff we would not like anyone who is too loud or bossy but hopefully you like to laugh and singIt would be great if you’d like to work with us especially if you are fun, like going out on adventures - we promise you no two days are the same!Our HomeThere are 7 Bungalows at Ridgewood Number 1 is an office for staffThe other 6 are for us we have our own tenancies and decorate our homes how we likeWe each have a large bathroom, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, plus a lounge and a private garden.Our neighbours are all amazing as our neighbours are each other, we have our own little street.We have private parking which you can use to park your carWe have a shared car for outingsThere is a big field at the front to use and have picnics onThere are lots of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants close bySouth Gosforth metro is a 5-minute walk meaning getting out and about is easy. There also lots of local buses.Other InformationWe each have at least one to one support with 4 staff on duty during the nightThe main shifts are day 8am-10pm and waking nights 10pm-8amIn order to support us to have the “Best Lives Possible” our team have specialist training in positive behaviour, autism and learning disabilities.We are recruiting for full-time staff for 37.5 hours per week.Although it's not a mandatory requirement, we have a strong preference for candidates with a full UK driving license.One of the values of Community Integrated Care is our passion for our people and every year we invest in our front-line worker pay in line with the Living Wage increase each April. Our promise has always been clear: we will do everything in our power to improve pay for colleagues. And so, if you start with us between now and 31 March 2025 your pay will be £11.94 and then from the 1st April 2025, this will increase to £12.62.We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience.
