The Role:
Our client are looking for a Director of Emergency. This is an opportunity to provide professional leadership in clinical and service improvement activities and advocate patient focused care. The right candidate will posses the necessary clinical expertise, innate understanding of clinical governance, quality and safety, strategy and operations, and financial management. At all times they must set the standard by demonstrating teamwork skills and high level communication in clinical practice. The Director will also be responsible for staff across multiple streams, including education and supervision of trainees, students and staff.
The Location:
The hospital is located on an idyllic part of the Queensland coast. With over 300 days of sunshine each year there is an abundance of outdoor activities. Popular attractions include Riverbank Parklands, a riverfront parkland attraction, the coastal strip and large neighbouring islands, the vast majority of which is national park.
The Facility:
This is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland. Services include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cancer Services, Cardiology, Renal, Palliative Care, Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Oral Health, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthesia. There are a range of clinical services provided on a visiting basis from tertiary hospitals in Queensland. The Cancer Care Unit provides care for local patients, with state-of-the-art equipment and services. Accredited for ACEM, ACRRM and RACGP specialist training.

The Requirements
One or more of the following:
* Hold or be eligible for registration with AHPRA
* Hold or eligible for FACEM
* Possess at least 12 months recent experience in Emergency Medicine at a Consultant Level, ideally with Head of Department/ Clinical Director experience
* IMG's who are about to lodge their Specialist Assessment Application with ACEM, or awaiting their ACEM interview, or who have been assessed by ACEM and found to be partially or substantially comparable.
