About the Role The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. The Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Package work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance wellbeing and mental health support available to students.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers, and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision making for enhancement of all students' learning.Use evidence-based intervention strategies to support young people experiencing challenges with mental health, and social and emotional wellbeing.Provide therapeutic counselling and support through individual or group sessions to address mild to moderate mental health concerns.Facilitate referrals to other allied health professionals and services and assist students and families to access this support.Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as a part of the school response team.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
