Spanos Retail Group owns and manages a number of different companies operating under the Spanos IGA, celebrations and Valleybake brand. This role is based at our head office at Ashmore, with on-site parking available.
We are looking for a passionate, experienced HR Manager to join our team. The main purpose of the role is to provide quality service and support to our retail businesses.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Establishment and continuous improvement of the HR function, with a focus on workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding and induction, remuneration and recognition, performance management, employee relations, and employee well-being.
* Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures that align with the company's goals and values.
* Provide appropriate advice and guidance on HR matters to managers and employees to maximise organisational performance and foster a positive working environment.
* Foster a psychologically safe work environment, promoting a culture where all staff feel safe to speak up.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Execute the annual remuneration and performance review processes end-to-end.
* Create and manage employee development programs to support career growth and skill development.
* Drive employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work culture and high levels of employee satisfaction.
* Develop and prepare HR-related documentation.
* Coordinate training and development programs.
* Maintain and manage HR records and employee databases.
* Provide support in implementing well-being and other HR initiatives.
* Develop clear policies and ensuring policy awareness and understanding.
* Ensure complete confidentiality is always maintained throughout the organisation for all people and culture matters where applicable.
* Support performance management by assisting with goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback sessions.
* Support in payroll.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
* Well-developed knowledge and experience of contemporary HR procedures and practices.
* 5+ years of broad generalist HR experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to interact proactively with all levels of the organization.
* Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
* Effective in contributing to a small team and maintaining confidentiality.
* Ability to develop and implement HR programs.
* Takes responsibility for tasks from inception to completion.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong time management and planning skills.
* Strategic thinking.
