The Opportunity:
The Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer will work within the Amphibious Combat & Sealift Systems Program Office (ACSSPO) Phase 6 Team who are responsible for the current capability upgrade program for the Royal Australian Navy’s two Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) Ships.
The V&V Engineer will be familiar with the Defence Seaworthiness Management System and have experience with Requirements Development and Design Review and Acceptance within a regulated technical framework such as Department of Defence.
Responsibilities:
1. Complete and/or review engineering tasks such as System Requirement Reviews (SRR) and Verification & Vali-dation (V&V) Testing.
2. Complete, review and/or endorse key engineering documentation such as the Engineering Management Plan, Certification Management Plan and Engineering Change Management Plan.
3. Provide risk-based engineering, configuration management, installation and schedule advice.
4. Provide engineering status updates to key Project, Procurement and Change Management documentation.
5. Attend and present at key project meetings and Program Boards.
6. Document and embed Lessons Learnt
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
7. Minimum of 5 years’ experience working to deliver Defence projects.
8. Bachelor of Engineering, or equivalent, qualification in a recognised Engineering related discipline.
9. Hold a minimum of an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
10. Hold, or be eligible for, membership of a recognised professional body and registration as Chartered Engineering.
11. Experience within the Defence Maritime Systems environment.
12. Strong stakeholder management experience across all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
13. Excellent people, time management and organisational skills.
14. Ability to work autonomously.
15. Must be eligible for ITAR clearance on relevant ship systems.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
