About the Role
As a Senior Lecturer in Sport, Recreation, and Fitness, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education and training to students pursuing careers in the fitness industry. You will bring your extensive industry experience and passion for teaching to develop and deliver engaging courses. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to shape future fitness professionals by designing curriculum, providing course counselling, and ensuring competency-based training aligned with industry standards.
The successful candidate must have:
* Recent and relevant experience as a qualified Personal Trainer and Advanced Personal Trainer.
* Proven experience in designing, teaching, and assessing fitness programs.
* A background in vocational education and training (VET), including course counselling and student support.
Other requirements:
* Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Fitness.
* Degree in Education or an equivalent qualification.
* TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
* Proficiency in TAFE SA Learn, Microsoft Office applications, and electronic student management systems.
* Comprehensive understanding of the SIS National Training Package and its application in competency-based training.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
* Out of hours work may be required and a flexible approach to the hours of duty is essential.
* Some intrastate and interstate travel may be required.
* A flexible approach to the taking of leave is essential.
* Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
* Eligibility to work in Australia.
