About this opportunity
The Head of Sales is a critical leadership role within the SULO business unit, responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing client relationships, and achieving revenue targets within the kerbside, commercial, and industrial waste collection sectors.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Formulate and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business growth and market share objectives
Develop and maintain relationships with strategic accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Lead, mentor, and develop the national sales team to maximize their potential and drive high performance
Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.
Oversee the preparation and submission of tender responses, ensuring they are competitive, compliant, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
Manage the unique challenges of selling into local government, including navigating procurement processes, understanding regulatory requirements, and building relationships with key stakeholders.
Oversee budget management, financial forecasting, and performance tracking to ensure financial targets are met.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics and build strong, positive relationships both internally and externally.
Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Significant experience in the plastics (injection moulding preferred) or heavy industrial manufacturing sectors is essential. Experience in the waste industry is highly desired.
A track record of successful leadership in a sales management role, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
SAP experience desirable, statistics/data analytic skills, strategy formation and execution.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
