As Senior Portfolio Manager, you will oversee the performance and strategic direction of our Home Buying portfolio. This role requires a strong commercial understanding and the ability to actively engage with stakeholders up to senior executives, including the CEO and GE Retail Banking. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimise home loan profitability while balancing portfolio growth and risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management: Oversee the performance of the Home Buying portfolio, ensuring alignment with the Group's strategic objectives and risk appetite. Provide regular updates and insights on portfolio performance to senior management and relevant committees. Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategies to optimise the Home Buying portfolio's profitability while balancing growth and risk. Spearhead the development and execution of the Home Buying Composition Strategy. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various departments, including distribution, operations, and credit risk, to ensure seamless execution of portfolio strategies. Prepare material for external stakeholders, including investors and regulatory bodies. Product Management: Prepare committee submissions relating to portfolio performance, product changes, and risk outcomes. Lead the development, execution, and oversight of product management initiatives. Risk Management: Monitor and manage financial risks associated with the portfolio, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements. Implement and oversee controls to mitigate risks. Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Lead cross-functional teams to achieve portfolio objectives and drive continuous improvement. About you
The ideal candidate will possess strong strategic thinking abilities, enabling them to develop and execute plans that align with organisational goals and drive portfolio performance. They should have robust analytical skills to assess portfolio performance, identify trends and make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for stakeholder management, allowing the candidate to engage with senior executives and drive cross-divisional support for outcomes across various departments seamlessly.
Proven experience in product or portfolio oversight within financial services is essential. Demonstrated background in strategic planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement along with a proven track record is required. Working experience related to home loans, including product, credit or finance is highly desirable.
