Copper Refineries are currently seeking suitably qualified applicants for the role of Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Townsville Operations Engineering team. This role is a full-time permanent position based in Townsville on a 5/2 roster.

Located on the coast in tropical North Queensland, Glencore's Townsville Operations encompass Copper Refineries Pty Ltd and Glencore Port Operations.
Our Townsville Operations mark the final link in Glencore's fully integrated north Queensland supply chain, connecting the natural resources we produce with markets around the world.
Copper Refineries Pty Ltd is one the world's leading electrolytic copper refineries, capable of producing 300,000 tonnes per year of premium-quality ISA brand LME Grade A copper cathode using Glencore's proprietary IsaKIDD refining process. Glencore Port Operations at the Port of Townsville is the export gateway for our north Queensland products.

Your key responsibilities include: Lead and mentor a small electrical engineering team.Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide technical support and guidance to the operations and maintenance areas.Scope, design, implement and facilitate plant improvement projects and capital works.Ensure safety & statutory compliance for both the Copper Refinery and Port Operations.You will have the following skillset and attributes: A tertiary qualification – Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.Minimum of 5 years' experience (postgraduate) working in large scale operating process plants or heavy industry environment.Previous leadership experience.Demonstrated design/construction experience.Project Management & Contractor Management experience.Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards, Acts and Regulations.A proactive attitude towards safety and procedural compliance.Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Programs Suite and SAP.Knowledge of Plant Control Systems including Citect and ABB/Honeywell DCS & Allen Bradley PLC systems will be highly regarded.This is a residential role and requires you to work a Monday – Friday day shift roster; however, you may be requested to be flexible in terms of work times and rosters.
