About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced journalist for our WIN News service, based in Hobart on a casual basis. Working in a regional newsroom offers an experience like no other, allowing you the opportunity to take ownership of your market and report on all rounds.
Reporting to the State News Director, you will be responsible for researching, compiling and producing high quality news stories for our weekday news bulletins. You'll liaise with editors and camera operators to ensure our bulletins meet deadline and are of the highest standards. You will have the opportunity to take part in all these tasks, whilst still keeping the ability to work on a casual basis.
About you:
To be the successful candidate, you will have:
A university qualification in journalism with at least one year experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated understanding of how to compile a ratings winning bulletin Knowledge of local, national and international news stories affecting the community Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of media law Accuracy and excellent attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines through effective time management Capacity to operate in a team environment, contributing positively to working relationships Ability to identify story opportunities, and operate with initiative and flexibility Positive work ethic, and the ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes What we can offer you:
