- In this role, you'll assist experienced Saw Technicians in maintaining, servicing, and optimizing saw blades and machines to ensure top-quality timber production.
- This role can lead to a full trade qualification as a Saw Technician through AKD's Saw Technician Pathways Program!
- Assist in maintaining and servicing saw blades and cutting tools.
- Use grinding machines, welding, and blade alignment techniques.
- Learn precision cutting and blade performance optimization.
- Help solve mechanical issues and fix faults in cutting equipment.
What You'll Learn - How to service and maintain industrial saw blades & machines.
- Hands-on experience with precision alignment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Workplace safety (WHS) in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities - Assist in the maintenance, servicing, and alignment of saw blades and sawing machines.
- Support the team in routine inspections and repairs of cutting equipment.
- Learn and assist with CPI-based service routines.
- Monitor equipment performance and report issues to the saw technicians.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and problem-solving tasks.
- Work in a safety-first environment, following all workplace health & safety (WHS) guidelines.
- Keep the work area clean, organised, and well-maintained.
What We're Looking For - Mechanical aptitude or experience in a hands-on role.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
