Job Title: Clinical Psychologist / General Psychologist (Contractor)

Contract Type: Independent Contractor
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality psychological assessments, interventions, and treatment for individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges.
This role is ideal for a motivated and compassionate professional who is looking to work in a flexible, client-centered environment while maintaining independence in managing their practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Psychological Assessments & Diagnosis:
o Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using evidence-based tools and methods, including clinical interviews and standardized assessments.
o Provide accurate diagnoses in line with current psychological models (e.g., DSM-5, ICD-10).
* Therapeutic Interventions:
o Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and other modalities.
o Tailor approaches to suit individual client needs across various age groups and presenting issues (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties).
* Case Management & Documentation:
o Develop and maintain detailed case notes, treatment plans, and progress reports in line with ethical and legal standards.
o Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accurately reflects the clinical work being undertaken.
* Collaboration & Peer Support:
o Collaborate with other healthcare providers, as appropriate, to ensure integrated care for clients.
o Participate in monthly peer consultations to foster a supportive working environment.
* Client Education & Psychoeducation:
o Educate clients about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and self-help techniques.
o Help clients develop resilience, emotional regulation, and adaptive skills.
* Referral Management:
o Refer clients to appropriate external services or professionals, when necessary, to support their treatment plan (e.g., psychiatry, GP referrals, external therapists, etc.).
* Flexibility & Autonomy:
o Manage your own caseload and schedule.
o Tailor your work environment to suit your needs while adhering to the practice's standards and policies.
Key Requirements:
* Qualifications:
o Full registration as a Clinical Psychologist or General Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
o Postgraduate qualifications in Psychology (e.g., Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology for Clinical Psychologists).
o MEDICARE PROVIDER NUMBER (OR THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN) TO OFFER BETTER ACCESS SERVICES IS AN ADVANTAGE.
* Experience:
o Experience working with a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, and adults, is highly desirable.
* Skills & Attributes:
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain positive therapeutic relationships.
o Excellent clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
o Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.
o Knowledge of a range of therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR) and willingness to adapt to the needs of clients.
o Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to high professional and ethical standards.
