My client is seeking a Procurement/Purchasing Specialist for a short term contract, with potential to extend.
Role responsibilities:
* Provide procurement expertise on policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance of procurement guidelines and requirements during the procuring process.
* Advise and assist with the procurement system and its process.
* Expedite timely closure of orders by internally expediting stakeholder.
* Solicit bids and prepare approval recommendations.
* Identify and establish preferred suppliers.
* Purchase goods and services according to established standards, ensuring value for money.
* Negotiate product savings with suppliers and explore process improvements.
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
* Demonstrated strong ERP software skills (SAP MM)
* Experienced within an engineering focussed environment, highly regarded
* Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with stakeholders.
* Excellent knowledge of purchasing to allow you to hit the ground running.
* Minimum 5 years' experience within a similar role
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
