First Nations Programs Manager - Support Act, Sydney / Melbourne / Remote / Work from Home Listed: 22 October 2024 Closes: 8 November 2024 Hours: Full time Salary: Competitive Salary with not for profit salary packaging Key Responsibilities: Manage the delivery of Support Act's First Nations programs and services including Yarning Strong, First Nations Mental Health First Aid, and Voices Amplified: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training.Provide culturally intelligent support to the First Nations Social Worker, who reports to the Crisis Relief Team Leader.Promote mental health and wellbeing support for First Nations music workers through the Support Act Wellbeing Helpline / dedicated First Nations Support Line.Work across the organisation to ensure a First Nations perspective on all programs and activities.Support the guiding principles and objectives contained in the First Nations Strategic Plan.Identify, develop and implement new programs and funding pathways as needed.Attend and represent Support Act at conferences, meetings and festivals, providing backstage wellbeing support as required.Build and maintain strong and mutually beneficial relationships with the First Nations music community.Be a voice to the music community on issues that impact the mental health and wellbeing of First Nations Music Workers. Skills Required: Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander lived experience, cultural knowledge, community connection or capability is essential.An understanding of, or experience working in, the Australian music or creative industries.A qualification in mental health, mental health promotion, case management will be highly regarded OR a minimum of 5 years lived experience working in a related field will be considered.Program planning and evaluation skills.Ability to manage budgets and provide timely project reporting.Demonstrated skills in community / industry engagement and relationship building, and conflict and resolution skills.Experience working for a not for profit or community-based organisation.Experience in obtaining and acquitting grant funding, including grant writing.Experience in creating a positive workplace culture and managing and optimising team performance in a remote team environment.
