The Role
We are seeking a trade-qualified electrical/instrument technician to join the Mount Isa team. Reporting to the Mount Isa Maintenance Team Leader, this position provides a maintenance service to the Mt Isa Operations to ensure the ongoing reliability of the plant.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Providing a responsive service to meet unplanned maintenance requests and scheduled maintenance plans as per weekly SAP work order process,
2. Carrying out maintenance tasks within budget and in compliance with Site Engineering and Maintenance Standards,
3. Working as part of a team to follow processes and procedures relating to maintenance tasks, safety, quality and environment with a ‘do it once, do it right’ mindset,
4. Working closely with operations team to achieve plant reliability and production targets
5. Providing input into improvements for reliability maintenance strategies and working closely with reliability engineers.
6. Providing afterhours support on a rotating roster
7. Fault finding on DCS and PLC controlled equipment
8. HV Switching
9. Hazardous Area Inspections
What you'll bring
To be considered for this role you must hold a Full Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Licence and a Certificate III in Instrumentation (or equivalent). Experience in the mining/power generation/chemical/petrochemical industry will be looked upon favourably. Other required skills and experience include:
10. 2years experience with instrumentation in mining/chemical manufacturing industry
11. SAP Experience
12. Strong safety Focus
13. Perform work to high quality
14. Exceptional diagnostic and problem solving skills, and
15. The ability to manage own time and schedule as well as the initiative to problem solve under pressure
16. Experience with performing maintenance on pressure, temperature, flow and level instrumentation
17. Experience with Yokogawa Centum DCS & Allen Bradley PLCs, Triconex PLC
18. HV Switching
19. Low Voltage Variable Speed Drives (Siemens, Power Electronics and Frenic Mega)
20. Maintenance and/or installation of instrumentation in Hazardous Areas
21. Experience with Natural Gas Systems is desirable

Our Northern Operations
Northern Australian Operations consists of an Ammonium Phosphate Mine and Processing Plant (Phosphate Hill) and Sulphuric Plant (Mt Isa) in North Queensland. The facilities comprise of ammonia, beneficiation, phosphoric acid, granulation and sulphuric acid plants plus infrastructure, utilities, power generation and housing to support the permanent workforce.
