Ord Machining is a family-owned business that has operated in Kununurra since 1993. We provide manufacturing and repair services to a wide range of industries in the East Kimberley region, including mining, agriculture, construction, transport, marine and tourism. Our services include supply, manufacture and repair of power transmission, material handling, processing and agricultural equipment. Our experience includes but is not limited to gearboxes, shafts, couplings, pulleys, sprockets, valves, pumps, bearings and seals.
We are currently seeking for skilled and experienced Diesel Motor Mechanics to join our team in Kununurra WA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Carry out workshop based as well as field service repairs to a variety of agricultural equipment including tractors, balers, tillage, and planting equipment, sprayers and potentially harvesters/pickers.
* Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts
* Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
* Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
* Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
* Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
* Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
* Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
* Discuss with suppliers about detailed specifications, cost and delivery
* Apply electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic principles in resolving problems
* Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems
* Liaise with parts and sales to handle supply chain management issues
* Manage project including timelines, budgets, maintenance schedules
* Actively engage with customers to grow the business
* Keep up-to-date with latest agricultural engineering principles and new technology
Experience and Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as Diesel Motor Mechanic
* Familiar and has an experience with CASE, John Deere, Fendt, Massey (desirable)
* Experienced with electronics and control systems, fuel technology and emissions, hydraulics and GPS technology (desirable)
* Excellent in communication skills
* High attention to detail
* Confident working under pressure and towards a deadline
Salary
* $70,000 – $75,000 a year (commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience)
