About PBC:
Palm Beach State High School is a large and dynamic educational environment with approximately 2800 students and 200 teaching staff. This rare opportunity is to lead the 470 Year 9 students with a team including a Year 9 Coordinator and support staff incorporating coaches & specialist teachers.
About the Role
As the Deputy Principal you will:
* Improve the educational outcomes of the Year 9 students at PBC
* Develop the quality of teaching and learning within our school-wide pastoral care program
* Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, and our broader community
Reporting to the Junior School Principal, you will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
* Lead and manage the school community to develop, articulate, and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all Year 9 students.
* Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry, and business
* Line manage, review, and enhance the PBC House and CARE program across the school
* Line management of HPE HOD
* Line management of Sport - including GC6 and whole school carnivals
* Line manage, review, and enhance the whole school Attendance and Engagement Portfolio
* Line of sight over priority student group - out of home care
* Uphold the deputy principalship as a values-based, ethical, and moral activity.
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
* Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
* Be futures-oriented and strategic.
* Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
* Manage resources to achieve goals.
