Sharp and Carter is assisting a local government department source a Junior Solution Architect to Join their team for an initial 6 month contract to work across a variety of new initiatives. The Solutions Architect is responsible for producing solution designs across a range of business, information, interoperability and application architectures aligned to organisational goals. The Solution Architect will be required to apply technical, theoretical and managerial skills to satisfy requirements of the Digital Strategy. Solutions Architecture responsibilities: Ensure that the organisations Business and Solutions Architecture practices are adapted and applied to projects. Lead or participate in the development of Solutions Architecture strategies, plans, while upholding and adhering to standards. Lead, define and communicate solutions, architectures, data frameworks, strategic roadmaps, associated designs and standards, in line with organisation goals, strategies, priorities and objectives. Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in solutions architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities. Develop, maintain and communicate architecture models for business, information, applications and technology. Survey market landscape and conduct research on emerging technologies, to support the development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase efficiency across council. Determine and deliver appropriate solutions that provide customers with better access to information and provide confidence in using data to drive business decision making Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Demonstrated previous experience with solutions architecture, business and systems requirements, and technical design and analysis in a complex and maturing technical environment. Trusted capacity to provide specialist expertise and advice in relation to Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Proven track record in establishing standards, procedures, processes and delivering solution and business architecture roadmaps and solution designs. Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a specialist technical environment. Demonstrated high level communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including the ability to: Negotiate, advocate, engage and present information clearly. Remain impartial and communicate with influence on sensitive/complex matters at an individual, team and management level. Translate complex information into simple concepts to facilitate stakeholder understanding. Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with stakeholders.
