DDG is shaping the Defence ICT of the future, moving from no longer delivering orphan point in time solutions to focusing on building an ecosystem of interoperable platforms. By adopting modern architecture and platforms that are scalable, reliable, performant, and secure, we will meet the demand of our integrated Defence force to be ready to fight and win in the digital age.Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.Accountable for managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility, and guiding and developing people.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, goals, and deliverables.Develop detailed project plans to track progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks.Manage all aspects of project activities including finance, procurement and contracts, technical, risk, schedule, quality, workforce and industry relationships.Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones.Apply established technical, operational, professional and administrative activities, procedures, practices and project management methodologies.Mentor and guide project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.This role is ideal for an experienced project manager who is adept at end-to-end ICT project management and is looking to take the next step in their career. The Department will be creating merit pools to fill vacancies across the Organisation over the next 18 months. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. Our ideal candidates will demonstrate:Experience in managing technical ICT projects in a large and complex environment assuring the delivery of quality solutions for Defence.Ability to deliver all aspects of project management, including developing and monitoring project plans, maintaining project performance, coordinating resources, reporting, issue and risk management and managing budgets.Organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with proven capacity to prioritise, multi-task, achieve business goals, perform and meet deliverables.Well-developed interpersonal skills with previous experience engaging, collaborating and influencing key stakeholders to achieve optimal business outcomes.Demonstrate highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent the project in high-level committees and provide high quality and well-considered reports on project status and progress. A willingness to share knowledge, work cohesively and continuously learn.
