They should encourage positive engagement and achievement at school by providing an environment that nurtures the emotional, physical, and academic wellbeing of all students.The role will see you work in close collaboration with the Wellbeing team, which consists of an Associate Principal, Program Coordinators of Student Support, a Year Coordinator of each year group, school psychologists, chaplain, clerical staff, Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer, and school nurse; thus, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to a productive environment that is inclusive, proactive, and flexible is important.You will provide ongoing pastoral support and have a significant part in the daily management of student behaviour, attendance, engagement, and working closely with students to meet their individual needs.The successful applicant should possess strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships. Knowledge and training in Classroom Management Skills (CMS), Restorative Practices, and Positive Behaviour Support (WA PBS) will be highly regarded.As the successful applicant, you should actively promote a positive culture through Wellbeing events and assemblies and possess effective planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities within timelines and meet deadlines.You will ideally have high-level knowledge of school and department policy and process, excellent record-keeping skills, and the capacity to de-escalate conflict with distressed students, caregivers, and staff.
