As a result of our continued success and ongoing commitment to 100% safe behaviour, we are searching for a highly proactive and approachable individual to join our TEAM at our Mackay Branch and supporting our Queensland site locations.Reporting to the Regional Safety Coordinator, you will have full autonomy in driving safety culture and compliance across operational sites and be a key leader in implementing change.
Working closely with frontline teams and as a core contributor within the broader Health Safety and Wellbeing team you will lead HSE performance improvements through alignment and delivery of Fenner initiatives and programs.
This position requires a problem solver with superb communication and people skills and unwavering commitment to safe practices.Key responsibilities include:Collaborating with leadership and team members to drive a positive health and safety culture, emphasizing safe behaviours and practices.Complete routine safety inspections to identify and record hazards, unsafe acts and conditions and apply effective controls to eliminate risks.Proactively identifying improvement opportunities and implementing preventive measures to enhance safety standards.Supporting key stakeholders with internal induction and safety training programs/courses for new and existing employees.Coordinating safety inspections, risk assessments, training compliance activities, and WHS consultation arrangements with the support of leadership.Assisting with procedural development, tendering submissions, and safety meeting facilitation.Working with local and national divisional teams on relevant projects, campaigns, and best practice development.Maintaining a strong site presence to ensure workforce engagement and strong customer relationships.About You:We are looking for a Health & Safety professional that considers themselves a collaborative team player - a motivated, proactive self-starter and go getter with a passion for problem-solving and engaging the workforce to create a safer workplace from the ground up.The following skills and experience are key to your success:2-5 years' experience within a similar position, in a similar industry.Qualification in Health & Safety (min Cert IV WHS), or equivalent.Sound knowledge of WHS legislation.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and build trust and respectful relationships at all levels.Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage dynamic workloads.Strong verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.Experience with Incident investigation (using ICAM (preferred), RCA, etc).Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a dynamic team.Digitally proficient including sound Microsoft Office skills.Capacity to travel when required.Additionally, the following experience would be viewed favourably:Safety Auditing qualifications.Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessment (TAE).ICAM incident investigation training.First Aid and D&A testing certification.Working knowledge of safety systems used by principal mining companies in Queensland.What's in it for you?Joining Fenner means joining a company that appreciates their employees and inspires them to reach their full potential.
