Foodbank WA is looking for a Storeperson role for their Bunbury location, who will be responsible for the safe handling and movement of food. The role ensures stock is stored and managed correctly, transported safely and is readily available to enable Foodbank WA to achieve its strategic objectives and provide food relief to its network of charities and agencies in addition to the local community. This role focuses on the ability to work with volunteer staff and paid employees alike.Working hours Part time - 0.4 FTE Benefits Competitive remuneration package including salary packaging and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, innovative, and long-standing community services organization.Key responsibilities Stock Management Receives all inbound stock via transport or donors and completes all necessary company paperwork whilst ensuring that this stock is handled in an appropriate manner; Receives and accurately records donated stock; Replenishes stock volumes on the Agency Floor, the chilled, frozen, and retail areas, and removes empty pallets and packaging. Check date codes; Checks cool room, freezers Agency floor and warehouse for litter, and damages, and ensures all rubbish is removed; Accurately records all stock weights that are received, transferred to the sales floor, or dumped; Moves stock around the premises as directed, and maintains a tidy back yard by properly stacking pallets and emptying bins; Performs some duties within a chilled environment including the freezer to restock Agency floor; Checks temperatures (as required), checks "Use by/Best before" on short coded stock in the facility and removes any product that can no longer be used; Completes compliance checks to ensure adherence to HACCP and OH&S requirements; Performs monthly stocktakes in conjunction with the Team leader; Assists with normal warehouse operations as required; Operates a forklift to load and unload delivery trucks. Moves stock around the premises as directed, and maintains a tidy back yard by properly stacking pallets and empty bins; Ensures that all relevant administration has been completed in accordance with all state legislation and formalised by the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager; Performs duties in accordance with relevant Occupational Health and Safety and Equal Opportunity Legislation; Provides excellent customer service to those requiring assistance during visits to Foodbank WA. Essential Criteria: Experience and demonstrated ability in warehouse operations and store procedures; Knowledge of OH&S procedures; Knowledge of HACCAP Process; Knowledge of and experience with Foodsafe Requirements; Ability to work alone and in a group environment, especially with volunteer staff; Ability to supervise and direct volunteer staff:Capable of regular lifting; Commitment to making a difference to people in need across Western AustraliaDesirable Criteria: Have a passion to make a difference in WA, within a Non-Profit Organisation; Experience in wholesale environment operations; A current and valid MR/LR driver's licence; A current and valid HR driver's licence; Current license to Perform High Risk Work (forklift) Understanding of Non-for-profit organisations and Community based Human Services Provision; Qualification in a community related discipline.
