Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Business Project Manager for a federal government agency on an initial day rate contract through to 31 December 2025, with options to extend. This role sits within the Service Design and Improvement Branch, which has two streams for planning and operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and manage project plans and schedules
* Contribute to project design, governance arrangements, and operational integration
* Ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget
* Research, review, and evaluate projects
* Report on project outputs to stakeholders and oversee regular project reporting, including status updates and exception reports
* Prepare and review business cases, project plans, reports, and executive briefs and corporate documentation
* Budget management, monitor expenditure, and oversee procurement and contract management activities
* Risk management, issues, actions, dependencies, and benefits (RAID)
* Analyze project performance and coordinate quality management activities
About the Role
This is a federal APS Executive Level 1 (EL1) position with a competitive daily rate in the mid to high $600's per day, inclusive of superannuation. You can be based out of our client's Richmond or Geelong location with a hybrid working environment, consisting of two days working from home, a 37.5-hour workweek capped at 230 working days per year.
Requirements
* Experience as a Business Project Manager, preferably within federal, state government, aged care, NFP/NGO, employment services, disability, or healthcare sectors
* Able to understand complex policy and operational front-line issues and interpret data to assist in determining root-cause problems
* Deep understanding of Project Management and ability to use various project tools and methodologies
* Ability to influence stakeholders and manage conflicting or challenging situations and stakeholders
* Expert knowledge of Jira and Confluence
* Detailed understanding of SAP CRM and Salesforce CRM platforms in relation to front-line support services
* Detailed knowledge of NDIS or Services Australia operating systems, practice, and processes - strong preference for government experience
* Able to work with multiple teams, internal and external stakeholders, business areas, other departments, UAT, ICT
