We are looking for a talented and reliable person with a positive attitude to join the City of Mandurah to complete a traineeship in Conservation and Land Management.
As a trainee you will complete a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management) while gaining practical knowledge and skills in general bushland maintenance tasks through on the job experience.
What does the ideal candidate bring to City of Mandurah?
* School leavers: OLNA or NAPLAN 9 Band 8
* Non-school leavers: C grades in Year 12 English and Maths or Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management
* Genuine demonstrated interest in conservation and land management
* Current unrestricted C-B (Manual) class national driver’s licence
* Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual tasks in all weather conditions
* High level of attention to detail
* Self-motivated and keen to learn
* Ability to problem solve
* Be a confident communicator
* Ability to follow instructions and take direction
* A strong team player
* Basic knowledge of hand tools
* Reliable and hardworking
* Computer skills with the ability to operate MS Office software packages, tablets and mobile devices
The finer details
This fulltime position attracts a salary range of $36,082 to $62,324 gross per annum dependent on age. The traineeship is 2 years in duration and is located at the Council’s Southern Operations Centre in Dawesville. Successful applicants will need to obtain their white card prior to commencing and complete a full medical including a drug and alcohol test.
