We strive to create an environment that appeals to the very best people in the industry, providing them with an exciting, market leading and satisfying workplace, and rewarding their performance.Job DescriptionAbout the Role:At the heart of our technological operations, the Network Engineer is pivotal in ensuring seamless and optimal end-to-end (E2E) network design and implementation for telecommunication and enterprise networks throughout the organisation.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Manage daily network activities aligned with objectives, timelines, and deliverables.Address and resolve Level 3/4 engineering incidents to minimise business disruption.Provide expert-level support to internal and external stakeholders.Commit to on-call availability for unplanned and planned works.Design, manage, and optimise Edge, Access, and Enterprise networks.Integrate and test new equipment and technologies.Proactively resolve Level 4 problems to ensure network stability.Update and maintain network standards and documentation.Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) throughout product life cycles.Lead technical meetings and collaborate with vendors and engineering teams.Facilitate onboarding of Retail Service Providers.Create summary reports and escalate critical issues.Share expertise through knowledge transfer forums.Troubleshoot technical issues and validate work completion.Participate in on-call rosters for timely support.Align network configurations with standards and operational frameworks.Conduct site visits for training, handovers, and supporting POC and pilot projects.Collaborate to develop innovative and efficient solutions, driving strategic objectives.About you:The ideal person for this role will demonstrate:You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting swiftly to evolving business needs while effectively managing multiple priorities.A true team player, you excel in collaboration, sharing knowledge, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.You bring an innovative mindset, consistently seeking opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.Proactively committed to personal growth, you continuously develop your skills and talents.You uphold the highest standards of integrity, demonstrating honesty, transparency, and trustworthiness in all interactions.Always presenting yourself with professionalism, you maintain a positive attitude and approach to your work.You exhibit flexibility and adaptability, ensuring optimal outcomes when business needs or directives shift to meet operational goals.Professional Experience and Knowledge:Over 5 years of experience in telecommunications, with expertise in networking principles and practical application across access, transport, and enterprise networks.Proven track record in fixed access, edge, and enterprise-based networks, with extensive experience in labs, test facilities, or operational settings.In-depth knowledge of xPON fixed access networks, edge networks (MPLS, Layer 2), and passive/active network elements.Mastery of networking protocols, including LAN protocols, BGP, RIP, NAT, OSPF/EIGRP, TCP/IP, and wireless technologies.Strong familiarity with network design principles and Physical Network Inventory (PNI) systems.Practical experience or familiarity with equipment such as Nokia ISAM/OLT, Ruckus & Ubiquiti wireless systems, Fortinet solutions, Juniper, and Cisco routers and switches.Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex network issues.Knowledge of firewall design and implementation for enhanced network security is an advantage.Educational and Certification Requirements:Holds industry-recognised certifications like CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCP.Certified qualifications in IT, Computer Science, or related fields.Operational Best PracticesFamiliarity with IT frameworks such as ITIL and COBIT.Advanced knowledge of fixed access networks, including FTTP, FTTx, and HFC technologies.About us:Uniti Group is an exciting, dynamic and fast-growing world-class digital infrastructure company.At Uniti Group we are absolutely committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
