Aurora’s operating culture prioritises the health and safety of its employees - inclusive of a strong work-life balance, animal welfare and seeks to positively contribute to the environment and communities in which Aurora operates.Job DescriptionWhat Aurora Dairies can offer youAurora Dairies are currently seeking an Assistant Farm Manager for a dairy farm in Wharparilla, located 10 minutes from Echuca in Northern Victoria.This farm is approximately 530ha with 450ha under flood irrigation systems currently milking 650 cows, through a 50-bail rotary shed with ACR’s, auto teat spray, SCR cow collars and auto drafting with the use of Jantec systems for all herd records. With the unpredictable weather the dairy yards have been set up with a great undercover vet and handling area.This farm is 40% Spring calving beginning in mid-July to October and 60% Autumn calving beginning early February until mid-April. Calving down around 200 heifers calves per calving and some beef calves as well. The herd is mixed size with both smaller cross-bred cows and larger Friesian cows.We run mainly as a one herd system with a small sick and fresh cow herd.
